The ultra-popular-with-the-kids Five Nights at Freddy’s videos games recently took a wrong step with FNAF World, an unpolished and underwhelming RPG, but it looks like the series will return to its roots with its next entry. A new teaser trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location has been released, and by the looks of it, the new game hopes to add some new jump-scaring horrors to the mix — for in addition to sinister animatronic animals, the new game will also feature creepy dolls and what appears to be an evil clown.
Aside from the new baddies, the teaser drops a few other hints about Sister Location. This entry in the series apparently takes place “deep below ground,” and Freddy Fazbear and pals now have a much slicker, more high-tech look to them. Could we be leaving the “screwed up Chuck E. Cheese” location behind? Also, we see flashes of what looks like somebody moving around in a first-person perspective, hinting this may be a more fully-formed, complex game than past entries.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location is set to come out some time this fall, which means series-creator Scott Cawthon is taking more time than usual with the next entry. (The first four Freddy’s games were all fired out within the span of a year.) After the debacle that was FNAF World, the extra time is almost certainly a good thing.
