It’s been too long since we had a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and those Ride games do not count. Fortunately, come September 29, our long national nightmare is over, and the game itself is looking good. The above footage is from classic levels, but Hawk himself has leaked a bit more:
I just made @rileyhawk666 do a 900 at @berrics (in #THPS5)

As you can see from both clips, it’s the classic game. The controller layout will be similar, the game will control the same way, and you’ll even have the little meters to keep you from eating pavement while you pull a manual or grind. It also appears that you’ll be able to give your board specific effects by grinding specific surfaces, like an electrical charge gained from grinding power lines or fire effects by jumping over a bonfire. Surely, in a game as straight-laced and polite as this, that will not result in excessive chaos.
The biggest change is with multiplayer, which will have drop-in-drop-out functionality, so you can either take on a challenge with your friend or, you know, troll them. This being a Tony Hawk game, we assume the latter will be a popular option. PS4 and Xbox One owners will find out this September, while Xbox 360 and PS3 owners will have to wait until later this fall.
