Hitman: Agent 47, the latest movie to be based on the Hitman video game series, has kind of been lost in the hustle and bustle of the summer movie season. That’s actually kind of a shame, because it’s looking good. Well, okay, decent. Certainly better than your average video game-to-movie adaptation.
The latest international trailer features some familiar shots of Rupert Friend snapping necks and tying ladies to jet engines as Agent 47, but it also delivers a surprising amount of new footage. A lot of the new footage focuses on Rupert Friend facing off against Zachary Quinto, who plays fellow cloned hitman John Smith. Quinto’s character is, of course, the proverbial “more advanced model,” but I bet Agent 47 will still find a way to murder him. Y’know, just a hunch.
While we’re at it, here’s a new featurette designed to introduce audiences to this Agent 47 character. If you’re a GammaSquad regular, you probably already know who he is, but what the heck, why not give it a look all the same?
Hitman: Agent 47 hits theaters August 21. Anybody think this movie has a shot at breaking the video game movie curse? At the very least, there’s no way it can be as boring as the last Hitman movie.
