When it comes to lit up keyboards, understanding the purpose for them is probably very much rooted in how much of a nerd you are. As someone who uses my keyboard a ton, both for writing and gaming, it was an easy choice to pick up a mechanical keyboard with back-lit keys. Mechanical because my fingers can fly on it, and back-lit because not only does it look cool, but when I find myself working later or gaming late at night, it’s a lot easier to fumble around for my F12 key when it’s lit up.
Logitech is perhaps one of the most well-known companies when it comes to computer peripherals and yes, keyboards. While you might have a few laying around your house and not think much of them, spending upwards of $100 on a good keyboard can be a great investment, and Logitech knows that. They also know that cool things draw attention. The Verge explains that at PAX East, they put on quite a show with their keyboards by creating a frickin’ wall of LED-lit keyboards and did some amazing things with them.

Logitech explains that this is 160 G810 keyboards made to display some awesome, retro-soaked goodness from iam8bit in an awe-inspiring show. That is certainly quite a way to make an impression and suddenly my one-color keyboard feels inferior to a giant wall of keyboards that can tell stories.
