Ninja Turtles games haven’t been that great for a while, but a couple of months back, it was revealed that Platinum Games, the action masters behind Bayonetta and the recent, well-received Transformers: Devastation, would be working on a Ninja Turtles game. The first official trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan hit a couple of months back, giving fans a peek at the game’s cool, stylized visuals, slick brawling action and, most crucially, Bebop wielding a giant chainsaw. Things were definitely looking promising.
Well, now we have a new Mutants in Manhattan trailer on our hands, and things continue to look up for the heroes in a half shell. The trailer gives us our first glimpse of Master Splinter, a better look at Bebop and Rocksteady, and Michelangelo flying around with a jet pack. Yes, that’s right, the Ninja Turtles get jet packs in this game. Just take my goddamn money now, Activision! As for the action, it continues to look slick, frantic and exciting, but not too overly complex, which is as it should be. A Ninja Turtles game should be playable by people of all skill levels.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan arrives to kick some shell May 24.
