The Co-Creator Of ‘Rick And Morty’ Is Opening A New Studio To Make Virtual Reality Games

Rick and Morty is all about technology and weird science run amok, so it only seems fitting that one of the show’s creators is getting into the science fiction-ish world of virtual reality. Yup, series co-creator (and voice of both Rick and Morty) Justin Roiland has announced he’s teaming up with former Epic Games producer Tanya Watson (Gears of War, Bulletstorm) to found a new virtual reality games studio. Oh, and it has pretty much the perfect name…

Haha, I love how the logo looks like it’s made of barf. Roiland clearly knows about the drawbacks of VR, but dammit, he’s jumping in headfirst anyways. That’s the Rick and Morty spirit! Just in case you weren’t already excited to slap on your Interdimensional Goggles, here’s a delightful comic strip “press release” for Squanchtendo Games.

This isn’t the first brush Rick and Morty has had with VR – a simple VR experience was unveiled at this year’s Comic-Con, but it was developed by an outside studio. Will Squanchtendo be making its own Rick and Morty games? Or something completely original? IDGAF! Actually, I do, but Splzooshly’s catchphrase is infectious!

What do you think? What kind of VR experiences would you like to see Roiland and pals cook up?
