‘The Last Guardian’ Tops The Five Games You Need To Play This Week

With mobile, console, VR, and PC all competing for your gaming time and gaming dollar, there’s an ever-increasing rush of games. Every week, we help you cut through the chaff and find the best games to play this week. Starting with our pick of the week, a game that’s been in the works for nearly a decade. No, not Final Fantasy XV! The other one!

Pick Of The Week

The Last Guardian, Tuesday, PS4

Yes, the spiritual sequel to Shadow Of The Colossus, the most beloved art game of the PS2, is finally here, almost a decade and two consoles after it was supposed to arrive. You play an oddly tattooed moppet guiding a giant friendly-ish monster through a maze-like ruin while trying to solve the riddle of who the heck you are and why you’re there. Expect a review later today.

This Week’s Other Picks

Dead Rising 4, Tuesday, Xbox One and PC

Not to be outdone, the timed exclusive Dead Rising 4 arrives on Xbox One with a new mall in Willamette, a larger town to explore and kill zombies in, and the same old Frank West taking photos and making goofy weapons. We’ll have a review later today as well.

Star Wars: Battlefront- Rogue One: Scarif Expansion, Tuesday, PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Rogue One is coming to theaters next week, and part of the long, long tease for that is going to be new content for Star Wars Battlefront, which, uh, also kinda sorta happens to be the only other console game in town for all platforms. But, hey, more Star Wars!

Gigantic Open Beta, Thursday, Xbox One And PC

Alternately, you can team up with a bunch of friends and do some five-on-five multiplayer MOBA action in this open beta, if stress-testing servers is your thing. The cartoony style and irreverent tone may remind you of Battleborn, but playing a giant monster? That’s always fun.

Space Hulk: Deathwing, Friday, PC

Finally, if you want a tactical FPS, or are just a Games Workshop fan, the latest Space Hulk game is here, chunky armor, gritty machismo, and all.
