Jennifer Lawrence has long said she’d be done playing Mystique after X-Men: Apocalypse, and Hugh Jackman recently said he’d be done playing Wolverine after Wolverine 3. There have also been rumors that Apocalypse would be the end of Bryan Singer’s X-Men universe, made all the more likely by the announcement of a new standalone spin-off X-Men movie. So, where does that leave Michael Fassbender, other than, hopefully, inside my house reenacting scenes from Shame?
Fassbender told Variety that his contract is also over after X-Men: Apocalypse, but he doesn’t seem happy to leave. “I will shoot a hundred of them. The contract is in three film deals, and this is the last of that. But I’ll be curious to see what happens next,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bryan Singer posted another set photo on his Instagram, to go along with the set photos of James McAvoy’s shaved head, a very ’80s Jubilee and Jean Grey, a first look at Nightcrawler, and Cerebro.
We’re not completely sure what “the past catches up” refers to, but it appears this search party is carrying weapons without metal in them, so we’ll assume they’re after Magneto. Sheesh, you get accused of assassinating one president and try to assassinate another one on live television, and all of a sudden, you’re a criminal.
