As you may recall, Deadpool recently celebrated Australia Day by taking it to Wolverine. Well, okay, Deadpool/Ryan Reynolds was actually very complimentary of longtime cinematic Wolverine Hugh Jackman, but he did rip X-Men Origins: Wolverine a new one, because you’re damn right he did. That movie deserves any and all snark it has coming.
Yahoo recently caught up with Jackman on the red carpet and asked him about Reynolds’ jokey in-character comments. Jackman was also very complimentary of his fellow actor.
“Love it. It’s just brilliant. I mean, I love Ryan, he’s a good mate of mine. He’s so fantastic.”
That said, does Jackman think his Wolverine could beat up Reynolds’ Deadpool?
“A hundred percent.”
Delving a little deeper, Jackman was also asked whether he’d be interested in appearing in Deadpool 2.
“I’ve never thought about it till now, but doing something with Ryan — he’s awesome. That’s always attractive to me. But I think you’ve probably got several other people lined up to play Wolverine.”
Oh come on, Hugh. Enough with the “I’m done with Wolverine” nonsense. You know you’re going to be bending bars and growing out your mutton chops until you’re 70. Wolverine is immortal and so are you.
