Marvel finally confirmed what role Martin Freeman will be playing in Captain America: Civil War, killing hope that Henry Peter Gyrich would be making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sorry for getting your hopes up, GuyrichFan82. But we do know his real identity, and that wasn’t the only bit of casting info we got for Civil War. There’s also the confirmation of Pepper Potts’ return for Civil War, which is a sigh of relief.
Also I’m sure folks at Marvel would love if the rumors about The Incredible Hulk and Mark Ruffalo would go away. It keeps the movie in the headlines, sure, but they’re going to have to deal with angry fans when Hulk doesn’t show up. I fear for Anthony Mackie and Falcon’s status in Infinity War. I don’t fear for The Hulk because the guy is going to be in Thor. He’s good.
There’s also that little confirmation that Kurt Russell will likely be playing Star Lord’s father in Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2. That would mean he’s playing an assh*le, as confirmed by Michael Rooker and company at the end of the first movie, and he’s going to have to go toe-to-toe with Chris Pratt. Will he be mouthy like Quill or will he be a gruff ass like he was in The Hateful Eight? Let’s just hope it doesn’t end the same way.
And don’t forget, Crossbones is still around in Civil War. Marvel shared a nice image of Frank Grillo in costume on their FB page, reminding us all that there’s plenty of danger looming in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
