The holidays are a very special time of year for most people – and a lot of people are known to immediately depart from their Thanksgiving dinner table to go spend a night outside waiting in front of their local electronics or department store to get the best of the best deals for holiday gifting on Black Friday.
This weekend, Zappos wants to help you do something different. If ever you’ve thought, “I really wish I had a dog (or cat),” they’ve got you covered! Running Black Friday through Cyber Monday, Zappos has partnered with Best Friends Animal Society, along with No More Homeless Pets Network, to cover any adoption fees for the animal of your choosing for an event they’re dubbing “Home for the #Pawlidayz.” Not only will Zappos pay your adoption fees, but they’ll also make a one-time donation of $150 to the rescue organization you adopt from, capping out at a maximum donation of $1.1 million.
“Zappos is thrilled to provide homes for animals through Best Friends this holiday season,” said Steven Bautista, head of karma at Zappos.com. “Thousands of dogs and cats are in need of a loving home, and we’re excited to give customers the ability to make a difference.”
Typically, adoption fees start at about $50, but they can get as high as a couple hundred depending on your market and the number of vaccinations or procedures that have been delivered to the animal. Instead of shoving our elbows and trampling over everyone for a Krampus toy, let’s instead bring home a new furry friend for the holidays!
