Are we living in a scary new world where viral marketing is invading the world of road accidents? Not yet (we think), but this ridiculous story from Florida is the sort of thing that breeds suspicion.
NBC News reports that a truck carrying Busch beer collided with a truck transporting Frito-Lay products and left a big ol’ assortment of brews and Doritos strewn across Interstate 95 in Brevard County, Fla. on Wednesday morning. The drivers in the collision escaped injury, but the precious dad-beaconing cargo suffered some damage which may breed some tears for beers.
“Neither driver was hurt, but you had Doritos and Busch beer all over I-95,” Sergeant Kim Montes, a spokeswoman for the Florida Highway Patrol, told NBC News. “That’s like a Super Bowl commercial right there.”
Here’s a look at some of the snack-centered carnage. It’s not hard to imagine packs of teens springing up out of nowhere to grab as many glass-covered cans of beer as they can.

The driver transporting the beer was ticketed by the Florida Highway Department for failure to maintain a single lane. According to the patrol, the beer truck swerved to avoid another vehicle and wound up hitting the chip truck. The chip truck driver was not charged in the accident.
May you be reunited in junk food heaven, ghost beer and chips.
