Comedian and sometimes actor Bill Burr (Breaking Bad, Chappelle’s Show) mentioned on his Monday Morning Podcast — amid rants about Draft Kings and Deflategate — that he had learned to make homemade pie and found it much easier than he expected. In a recent episode, he promised to make a tutorial video, which has now arrived in time for the holidays, because “who’s kidding who, you haven’t done sh*t with your life” and “you gotta do something, right?” So, make your judgmental relatives a homemade pie and shove it right in their pieholes.
Amid the swear-word filled tutorial on competently crafting a flaky pie crust are some solid jokes, like when he forgets the name of the kitchen utensils, but remembers exactly how he acquired them: “This was my grandmother’s, and I just took it from her. You know, she’s old and weak and I was just like, ‘Grandma, I’m taking this.'”
He also pauses partway through the video with a sad realization about the internet: “Somewhere — and I don’t know why and I don’t know who — but somebody is probably jerking off to this.” Probably, but at least his boisterous delivery and Boston accent will ensure no one ever uses this for ASMR.
The pie crust Burr ends up with looks surprisingly decent for the amount of effort required. Maybe in the next video, he’ll fill that crust with some Shari’s Berries. Or just tell us what happened to Huell.
