World Tourism Day has come and gone but the Instagram hashtag honoring our collective wanderlust, #HelloWorldRelay, continues to shine. Monday’s holiday — brought to us by the United Nations World Tourism Organization — was dreamt up to inspire tourism and highlight the benefits of travel. This year, in coordination with Hello World, a travel focused company out of Australia, travel bloggers and Instagrammers were encouraged to share the best of their best sunrise photos from the rivers of Hawaii to the markets of Oman. With over 16,000 posts to the Instagram hashtag in one day, we’re all left basking in World Tourism Day’s beautiful glow.
Hello World partnered with over 60 countries and more than 75 Instagram influencers to get the word out about the event. Images poured in and the “sunrise” angle was eventually overtaken by a less strict, more free-flow appreciation of beauty around the world.
