Being the president’s daughter sounds like it might be pretty cool. Sure, your dad’s embarrassing antics — like that time he pardoned a turkey and got side-eyed the whole time — may be broadcast all over national television and you make the news every time you play beer pong at a college you’re visiting, but at least you don’t have to get a summer job at the local mall and wear a stupid outfit, right?
Well, kinda: Sasha Obama may not be wearing a Hot Dog On A Stick uniform down at the galleria, but she’s certainly earning her keep on Martha’s Vineyard…at least for the next couple of days.

Yep, that’s the younger First Daughter just taking orders at Nancy’s, a popular restaurant that The Boston Herald reports the Obamas visit regularly while on summer vacation. Sasha — who goes by Natasha at work — has been working the take-out counter and helping prep the restaurant before it fills with hungry guests. Her shift apparently ends less than an hour after the restaurant opens, though, so anyone trying to come by to say hello and give her some important ideas to pass along to her parents will be disappointed.
Of course, Sasha’s not working at the restaurant by herself. According to co-workers who spoke to The Herald, she’s accompanied by six secret service agents while she buses tables and runs the cash register. That’s got to be just a little embarrassing, especially when all your colleagues have no idea why a bunch of dudes accompany you to and from work every morning.
At least she only has to work until the weekend, when her parents arrive to begin their annual two-week vacation on the island.
