So you’re thinking about proposing to your significant other and you want to come up with something other than having a waiter at the Cheesecake Factory stick a ring in a piece of their signature dessert. You could go the creepy route or the insanely dangerous route. For Michael Banks he risked his life to propose to his girlfriend.
On Thursday, the 27-year-old decided that it would be a great idea to climb Morro Rock; a 600-foot landmark in California and then proceed to FaceTime his girlfriend and ask her to marry him, but the rugged Romeo got stuck while trying to get down! The Morro Bay Fire Department had to rescue him off of the ledge using a helicopter.
Morro Bay Fire Capt. Todd Bailey told the New York Post that Banks, “Took a different trail down, much steeper and became stranded.”

Michael’s girlfriend did say yes, but we hope she’s not going to be wanting an expensive wedding. Her future hubby was slapped with a fine and will have to pay for the rescue costs. Ouch.
You would think that after an ordeal like that you wouldn’t want to even see that rock ever again. But not if you’re Michael Banks! According to ABC News, Michael returned to the rock after the rescue and was arrested for drug possession after a local noticed him “acting under the influence.”
There’s no word from Banks if he has entered a plea deal or if his girlfriend is still saying “yes” to the proposal.
