Who can say no to the allure of free pizza? It’s an offer so enticing that it even has the power to seduce one friend to help another friend move. It’s not quite at the same level of good feelings as scoring an Oscar, but we imagine it feels pretty much in the same ballpark.
For the 2016 go-around of the Oscars, Pizza Hut in the U.K. is offering a promotion at select locations that will serve up free pizza to customers with a certain quirk. To claim the free circle of hot food, you just need to share the same first name as a British Academy Award acting nominee from this year’s crop. Eddie Redmayne, Christian Bale, Mark Rylance, Tom Hardy, Charlotte Rampling, and Kate Winslet fall under that umbrella, so if there’s a first name match (you’re a Charlotte, for example) and you have the appropriate ID, that means the pie is yours.
The promotion, which we can’t have in America because we take Leonardos getting pizza very seriously, will run exclusively for Oscars weekend. Earners of Oscar pizza can get a pizza with any topping up to £15 in value, but they have to move quick. It’s a first-come, first-serve gift with each location only having 10 of these pizzas to give away. Not a Brit or someone with a matching name? Just do what we do and buy three orders of cheese bread to eat in a Walmart parking lot. That’s true Oscar winning bliss right there.
