We live in a world where pets and animals can be famous – and while unusual, it’s not necessarily a bad thing. If a four-legged creature can harness over $870,000 for good, then why not? In this case, the adorable (philanthropic) dog of the moment (move aside, Marnie) is Manny, a French bulldog.
The 4-year-old pet regularly performs good deeds, like donating a van for puppy rescue, so when the step-sister of a New Orleans woman who suffers from debilitating cystic fibrosis reached out, little Manny (and, you know, his owner) sprung into action.
Joycelun, who recently underwent a double lung transplant, had a “simple wish”: to hang out with the pup, who totally cracks her up. Ask and you shall receive.
Under the guise of an interview about her condition, Joycelun was duped on video when Manny arrived to snuggle. After some tears and wet kisses, she got a second surprise: two tickets, care of Southwest, to visit Seattle (her dream vacation).
Luckily, Joycelun’s health has drastically improved since her transplant. For the first time in years, she is able to live life without being reliant on an oxygen tank.
The video is as heartwarming as Manny’s weird little bark. And we need a little heartwarming these days, don’t we?
