Anderson Silva And Terry Crews Team Up For A Mystery Project In Brazil

Anderson Silva used to stand on top of the MMA world as the greatest fighter to ever live. Age eventually catches up to us all, and after his back to back losses to Chris Weidman in 2013, he started to look surprisingly mortal. His leg breaking in half didn’t help any. And days before a fight with Urijah Hall at UFC 198, Silva was rushed to the hospital for gallbladder surgery.

The Spider is healthy once again, but there’s been no word on when his fight will be rescheduled. In the meantime, it looks like he’s spreading his wings and doing some more television work. Yesterday he posted up a picture with former NFL defensive end and Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Crews that read: “Such An honor to meet you @terrycrews, can’t wait for us to start working together #UltimateBeastmaster.”

What the what? Crews posted the same picture with a slightly more informative caption: “BRAZIL!!!! The great ANDERSON SILVA and I are preparing to bring you an amazing competition show produced by SYLVESTER STALLONE… ‪#‎ULTIMATEBEASTMASTER‬!!!!”

As the hashtags imply, this is all for an upcoming Netflix series called … Ultimate Beastmaster. The deets via Netflix:

The 10-episode event series will feature 108 competitors, 18 from each country, in total. Each hour-long episode will feature 12 competitors, two from each country, who will take their shot at running one of the most physically demanding obstacle courses ever devised, “The Beast.” At the end of each episode, a ‘Beastmaster’ will be crowned and in the final episode of the season, the nine individual winners from each episode will compete against each other for the chance for one contestant to become the Ultimate Beastmaster.

Each national team has a celebrity coach … and it turns out Crews is Team USA while Anderson is Team Brazil. Cool … but not as cool as the idea of Crews and Anderson training together. Or just hanging out together. How about we just get a show about that, instead? I feel like they could teach each other a lot.
