Here are three things everybody knows about Hugh Jackman: He can sing, he can dance and he can tear you to bits with his retractable claws. The 47-year-old Tony winner has established himself as such a natural conduit of all things Wolverine on the big screen that it can be a little hard to untangle him from his Marvel alter-ego. Was there a Sabretooth battle scene in Les Misérables? It’s a bit of a blur sometimes.
It’s always nice to be reacquainted with Jackman in non-Logan form and this week we got just that with his appearance in the freshly released Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards biopic Eddie The Eagle. (Sensible title.) Always happy to provide a public service, we here at UPROXX felt like it was time to give this Aussie some shine for his full career. As you may have noticed from the moving images and noises coming from that rectangle from the post, we’ve put together a film-hopping video guide that looks at Jackman’s impressively versatile career. There’s also a small snippet of Jackman narrating a fight between a kangaroo and Will Ferrell on Saturday Night Live. If that’s not enough to nudge you into giving this sub-two minute clip a shot, you must be made of stone.
What film do you think is the best display of Jackman’s acting chops? Would you select something from his work as a Marvel franchise staple or is something like The Prestige or The Fountain more of what you have in mind? Sound off in the comments and let the countdown to a Chappie mention begin!
