’90s nostalgia is an undead monster with a hunger that can never be fully satisfied. It’s kind of like a … sh*t, I had something for this. Anyway, the trailer for zombie western Dead 7 — a movie starring members of NSYNC, the Backstreet Boys, O-Town and 98 Degrees has finally arrived. Watch it up top via Buzzfeed.
The movie is being directed by BSB’s own Nick Carter and will star Carter and his bandmate A.J. McLean, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC, Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees and the entirety of O-Town’s current lineup of Erik-Michael Estrada, Jacob Underwood, Trevor Penick and Dan Miller — sorry, no Ashley Parker Angel. Presumably, Carter wanted them all or nothing at all.
The movie is a co-production between Carter and The Asylum, the infamous B-movie production house best known for their work on the Sharknado films. It will follow a group of (non-space) cowboys as they try to rid a post-apocalyptic town in the American West of zombies.
Fatone told Buzzfeed last year that working on the movie was “like therapy” for himself and the other boy-band members. He said that the purported feuds between the late ’90s boy bands were all “contrived” to grab media attention.
“We shared the same management, same label… but they would always kinda keep us away, apart, but there was actually no legitimate reason,” he said.
Dead 7 premieres April 1 at 8 p.m. EST on Syfy.
