Rumors swirled earlier in the month about William Hurt’s involvement in the massive third Captain America film, Civil War. We are aware that Mark Ruffalo is in the film in some capacity, meaning the Hulk might show up too. This turns on a lot of flashing lights that point towards one side having a Hulk and another side needing one to fill the void.

It’s a stretch, sure, but the events in the comic certainly played out in a way that would make that possible. To add fuel to the fire, Hurt sat down with IGN earlier in the week and talked a bit about settling in with the rest of the cast on the Marvel sequel:

“I loved playing Ross the first time because I was able to try and create an ego as big as the monster he was chasing. And one that was as warped too,” he said. “[Ross in Civil War] is different because it’s a different style. It’s a more modernized style. And what they’ve done is they’ve taken a character who was the Ross from the older film and made a new version. This is a much newer Ross. A much different Ross. And I liked that a lot. I haven’t had a lot of time to understand it, but I’m doing the best I can. And they haven’t fired me yet.”
