Hard as it may be to believe, it’s been nearly a decade since Fergie dropped The Duchess, her solo debut that spawned multiple massive hits including “London Bridge,” “Fergalicious,” “Glamorous,” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry.” Now, after much delay, Fergie is back with her second album, naturally titled Double Duchess. The first single has dropped, and it’s just as gloriously ribald as you’d expect.
The song is entitled “M.I.L.F. $,” and it features the catchy if somewhat nonsensical chorus of “You got that milk money/ I got that, I got that, I got that MILF money.” While it’s uncertain exactly what qualifies as “MILF money,” one can naturally assume that it would put you into a fairly high tax bracket.
This song is basically what we’ve come to know from Fergie; it’s not rewriting Shakespeare, but it rides a killer beat, and it has a memorably filthy chorus. Even though it’s been seven years since the Black Eyed Peas released their pop-dominating The E.N.D., and even longer since she’s done any solo work, this still has all the making of a massive hit. While the beat is more bass-heavy than her old stuff, lyrically, this song is straight outta 2000 and late. (That’s a good thing, in this case.)
