It was announced in November that former WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella would be taking time off to rehab a lingering injury. This was back when WWE’s disabled list wasn’t quite so extensive, and it didn’t take half an article to rhyme off how all of our favorite Superstars are completely broken in some way. It would later be revealed that her extended time off was, in fact, to avoid a possible career-threatening neck surgery. Due to the nature of the injury, continuing to wrestle — especially if she kept her finishing move — could have left the 32-year-old wrestler paralyzed.
The continued rehab on the bulging discs in her neck didn’t do enough, however, and Nikki was forced to undergo surgery to fuse the bones in her neck. As she described to E!:
“I have basically a broken neck, a pretty bad herniated disk,” Nikki explained. “What makes mine a little bit difficult than most people is that I have some disk behind my vertebrae, so with a lot of prayers we’re gonna pray that the doctors can get the piece behind my vertebrae with just a bone fusion.”
Great news #BellaArmy Nikki's surgery was successful she is sleeping soundly as we speak! Thank you all for your support! #FearlessNikki

Nikki’s surgery appears to have been a success. However, her return to WWE is still up in the air. It’s said that she won’t be able to travel for three months, and recovery time is around six months. A lot can change in such a lengthy amount of time, but hopefully we’ll see her back and better than ever. Or she can just wear stunning designer rompers on Total Divas while playing with her adorable Frenchie Winston. Fingers crossed it’s both.
