It’s the Road to WrestleMania, and the surprises just keep coming. Yes, yes, this latest surprise isn’t quite on the level of, say, Ronda Rousey signing with WWE, but this is still a move that longtime pro wrestling fans could not have anticipated.

It appears as though Jeremy Borash, an employee of Impact Wrestling since absolute day one of TNA back in 2002, has been hired away by WWE. And with his hiring, we’re now one step closer to a fulfilled dream of the actual, real Broken Hardy Universe happening inside WWE. But let’s take a step back, for those who may not be familiar with Borash.

Borash, who has served as producer, ring announcer, authority figure, writer, creative head, commentator, and even occasional wrestler during his 16 years in TNA and Impact, was long considered an absolute lifer for the company, and was credited with many, many good things happening in Impact during his time there. Most notably and most recently, he worked hand in hand with Matt Hardy in producing the crossover smash hit Broken Hardys segments, and really has some amazing stories to tell about the zaniness of producing those bits.

With Hardy now owning the rights to the Broken characters free and clear, there has been speculation that WWE may shift away from his current “Woken” character and finally make him “Broken,” like everyone wants. There have also been rumors that there has been filming taking place on the Hardy compound, and Matt has been reintroducing characters like King Maxel and Vanguard-1 on his personal YouTube channel.

And of course, there is also this:

With Hardy teasing a new Final Deletion, it would sure be nice if there was, say, one of the creative masterminds of the Final Deletion in the fold. Well guess what: it looks like there is.

According to PWInsider, Borash has been hired by WWE. Borash was backstage in Philadelphia over the weekend and at Royal Rumble, but he told everyone he was just visiting friends up until Monday night at Raw. He spent Thursday and Friday fulfilling some responsibilities for Impact Wrestling in Philadelphia, but it looks like those were his final tasks.

It’s unclear what Borash’s role with WWE will be, or if he even will in fact be working with Hardy. But his hiring and the legal dispute being settled certainly bodes well on that front. Regardless, someone with Borash’s wealth of knowledge and expertise is a very good person to have in your pro wrestling company.
