Big Sean claims to be putting the finishing touches on his currently unnamed fourth studio album, and it looks like he may be getting some help from two of the all-time greats. On Saturday the Dark Sky Paradise rapper tweeted out separate photos with Rick Rubin and Jay Z.
Now listening to my 4th album. RR.

Judging by the caption, Big Sean held a private listening session for Rubin, who barely looks awake in the photo — but hey, it’s probably just part of the legendary producer’s process. Jay Z, on the other hand, seems to be a little bit more hands-on with his Roc Nation signee because the caption reads, “Going thru my 4th album with one of the masters.”
The Detroit native has been teasing the forthcoming album for a while now. While promoting his joint project with Jhene Aiko, TWENTY88, during a Twitter Q&A, he retweeted G.O.O.D. Music president Pusha T casually mentioning new solo material. Sean also mentioned a new album was on the way when showing off his platinum plaque for Dark Sky Paradise, and just a few weeks ago he promised more details about said album soon.
How long was this in the making @BigSean ? U played me bangers from your solo album and outta nowhere u and @JheneAiko drop this missile!!

To recap, Big Sean’s fourth — or fifth, if you count his Detroit mixtape — album is of yet unnamed and there’s no release date, but Rick Rubin and Jay Z may have given him some assistance with it. One thing’s for sure, though: he’s has raised the bar for himself with standout verses on the G.O.O.D. Music posse cut “Champions” and DJ Khaled’s “Holy Key.”
