Fyre Fest has been “fully postponed.” After a disastrous first day, the festival organizers took to Twitter to let both the attendees, and the people flaming them on social media know, that they are nixing the rest of the event.
“Due to unforeseen and extenuating circumstances, Fyre Festival has been fully postponed. After assessing the situation this morning and looking at best options for our guests, we cannot move forward as we hoped we could. At this time, we are working tirelessly to get flights scheduled and get all travelers home safely.”

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism issued a statement this morning saying, “We are extremely disappointed with the way events unfolded yesterday with the Fyre Festival. We offer our heartfelt apologies to all who travelled to our country for this event.” Adding, “The event organizers assured us that all measures were taken to ensure a safe and successful event but clearly they did not have the capacity to execute an event of this scale.”

Fyre Fest, which was set up in the Bahamas, was billed as a luxury festival with tickets that started at $1,500 and went all the way up to $250,000 for packages that supposedly including airfare and luxury villas. For musical entertainment, the organizers pulled together G.O.O.D Music, Major Lazer, Blink 182, Disclosure, Rae Sremmurd, and Migos. Blink 182 quickly pulled out once they got a feel for what was happening at the festival, and it only got worse after that.

What greeted festival-goers when they arrived in the Bahamas was far from a luxury event. There was garbage strewn everywhere. The “gourmet food” was mostly just cheese sandwiches. And those “villas,” well they were less like villas, and more like hastily constructed tents.
Here's the dinner they fed us tonight. Literally slices of bread, cheese, and salad with no dressing. #fyrefraud #fyrefestival #dumpsterfyre pic.twitter.com/NmNXakSFlq
