It’s easy to see the profound impact ESPN sportscaster Stuart Scott had on people, especially in the wake of his untimely passing. As much as he spoke about athletes and their passion and strength, many knew it was he who was the true inspiration. After fighting cancer for many years, he finally succumbed to the battle today, and the immediate outpouring of love and support from athletes, celebrities, and musicians alike has been nothing short of powerful, and reflects how many of us feel as well.
From Kiefer Sutherland tweeting about the his memories of Scott:

To LeBron James, sharing his shock at the loss, Scott’s impact could be felt everywhere:
Even Lil’ Wayne found an excuse to be human for a moment:
All love for Stuart Scott

But honestly, no one summed up the man (or dropped his phrasing) better than former Public Enemy lead singer, Chuck D:
Stu Scott's passing hit me like a ton of bricks. Rest in PEace bro you pioneered that coolest side of that sportscasting pillow. #StuSalute

We lost a legend today, but a man who’s impact will ripple for all of eternity. Stuart Scott was survived by his two daughters and, ah, who am I kidding? He was survived and shall continue to be by every single one of us. A soul like that never truly goes away. He lives on in every perfect pass and three point shot we ever find ourselves standing up and cheering for.
