Conan O’Brien occasionally does a segment called NBA Mascots That Should Never Dunk, wherein ridiculous fake mascots like the Olive Garden never-ending pasta bowl and an octopus taking selfies try to dunk off a trampoline and fail miserably. It’s hilarious, and the kind of thing that should never happen in real life.
Here is that happening in real life.
The horrifically-named “BrooklyKnight” (named so badly that the NBA YouTube page just calls him “Brooklyn Knight” and “Brooklyn’s Mascot”) went for a dunk during last night’s preseason game between the Nets and the Celtics, lost the ball before he got even CLOSE to the net and fell helplessly to the ground as the ball lodged itself in the shot clock. Conan’s CD Discount Bin mascot couldn’t have done it better. Take a look.
The best part? Play continued.

Never change, BrooklyKnight. (Okay, maybe change your name.)
