The Pittsburgh Penguins are officially in the driver’s seat of the Stanley Cup Final.
The Pens jumped out to a 2-0 series lead over the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday night thanks to an overtime goal from undrafted rookie Conor Sheary. The OT-winner came just a few minutes into the extra frame and gave the Pens a two-game sweep at home to start off the Final.
For the Sharks, it’s the first time this entire playoffs that they’ve trailed a series by two games or more. As they head back to San Jose for Games 3 and 4, the Sharks will attempt to use home ice to fight their way back into the series….or, at the very minimum, capture their first SCF win in franchise history.
