Super Bowl XLIX delivered and it delivered big for NBC. The overnight ratings came in at a stunning 49.7, the highest in Super Bowl history. Compare that to last year’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos which delivered a 47.6, the fifth highest ever.

NBC’s Super Bowl XLIX overnight topped a 50 in each half hour from 8pm ET forward & peaked at a 52.9/73 from 10-10:15 p.m. ET.

There’s no reason to get too in depth about the numbers here. Just know that a lot of people watched a very compelling game all the way to the end. Overall viewership numbers (which come later today) will likely back that up.
