It’s virtually guaranteed that like The Sound of Music before it, NBC’s live action Peter Pan musical is going to be a mess. But at least it’s going to be a highly entertaining mess: NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt announced today at the TCAs that Christoper Walken will play Captain Hook in the singing-and-dancing special. Your move, pointless Hugh Jackman movie.
“He might really be a song and dance man at heart,” Greenblatt told critics. “He’s fearless as a comedic actor and always comes to play. I guarantee you he’s going to bring his own spin to Captain Hook. He might be the first tap-dancing Captain Hook.” (Via)
And yet no one will make my musical, Walken On Sunshine. Hollywood has no original ideas anymore.
