Last Week Tonight is off for two weeks, but John Oliver is fully aware that Monday morning internet headlines no longer work without him, so he pre-recorded this “web exclusive” to give us something to toss hyperbole at to start the week. Only this time it’s literal, complete with a physical attack on a piñata that starts at exactly the 2:00 mark. He did the packaging for us!
So yeah, come for the excellent internet self-awareness, stay for the much-deserved Caliou jokes (the piñata jokes aren’t bad either). John Oliver continues to be the hero the internet deserves right now.
