Sheryl Lee and Dana Ashbrook just announced their return to Showtime’s limited series revival of Twin Peaks at the Twin Peaks UK Festival. The news comes less than a week after Kyle MacLachlan confirmed his involvement at the TCAs with his trademark “damn good cup of coffee” grin.
Lee and Ashbrook admit they were as out of the loop as everyone else when the news first broke in October:
Dana said he was at home when he got a text from his fiancé’s cousin: “I saw it and I couldn’t believe it. I immediately texted Sheryl [Lee], Kimmy [Robertson] and Mädchen [Amick] and all three of them were like ‘Huh?!’” Sheryl thought Dana’s text was a joke, or maybe it was all “some weird publicity, like April Fools thing.” She went on to send an e-mail to David Lynch and he confirmed the incredible news.
At that point, everyone was texting and calling each other: “Have you heard from him? Have you heard from him?” All hoping to get invited back to the party. A couple of hours later, Sherilyn Fenn texted Dana: “I talked to David. We’re going back to Twin Peaks. We’re gonna have some fun!” While that’s not an official announcement, we can safely assume we’ll get to see what Audrey Horne is up to as well. (Via Welcome To Twin Peaks)
All that’s left now is the (hopefully forthcoming) announcement of Ray Wise’s return to the role of Leland Palmer and all will be right with the world.
