The Tonight Show returned to Los Angeles yesterday for the first time since the Reign of Jay, and you just knew Jimmy Fallon and the Roots would celebrate the cross-country trip with an inspired musical number.
They went all out last night, opening their weeklong stay in L.A. with a parody of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song. “The Fresh Host of Tonight” had nearly ever component of the iconic opening title sequence, including Higgins playing a nagging mom figure, enthusiastic head-spinning, cameos from the original cast, and Questlove and the Roots playing key roles (and providing the Philadelphia, um… roots).
