We’re a little late to this because most of the Uproxx staff was at the bar for happy hour at the time it aired, but a contestant named Becky on last Friday’s Jeopardy inadvertently managed to insult liberals with her response to a “Final Jeopardy” answer regarding a flower that shares its name with “a disparaging term for people on the political left.” Of course, the correct response was “what is a Bleeding Heart,” but that’s not what she said.
For what it’s worth, the contestant — full name Becky Sullivan — is actually a producer for NPR, which makes her the furthest thing from a conservative. After the episode aired on Friday, Sullivan took to Twitter to explain her gaffe:
OK here's the deal with pansy: I actually didn't know bleeding heart was a flower. I just put the only flower I knew that was also an insult

Sullivan also live-tweeted the episode she appeared in, providing an inside glimpse into the full Jeopardy experience. You can read the whole thing on her Twitter feed, but here are some highlights:
I'm cracking up because there was back-and-forth about what my hometown should be.

My initial impression was like, good grief these categories are tough.

During the first commercial break, they had to tell us to perk up. We were all too quiet because we were all like "good grief this is tough"

I'll just say it, Hodge Podge is a BS category

Insider info: this thirty seconds of footage with the Jeopardy "music" where we're thinking and writing had to be re-taped. IT'S ALL FAKE

Second place still gets me two grand though. Worth it. Sean did great.

Best part of this experience was the guy on Twitter who said I was a Real Life 5.5 but a Jeopardy 9.

I've made it, guys. Someone made a GIF out of me!!!!! pic.twitter.com/uMXtOZ174L

A “real life 5.5, but a Jeopardy 9″ is officially my new favorite compliment.
