Tuesday night, 17-year-old Bindi Irwin along with partner Derek Hough beat out final competitors Nick Carter and Alek Skarlatos to become the youngest winner of Dancing with the Stars. After Monday night’s emotional performance and tribute to her late father Steve Irwin, ol’ Nick Carter really never stood a chance. Nor did anyone, really, as Irwin has been the clear frontrunner all season long, even making people who generally don’t care about Dancing with the Stars (*ahem*) kind of care about Dancing with the Stars.
Speaking with Us Weekly, Hough had an idea of where Bindi can put her coveted Mirrorball Trophy when she returns to Australia.
She should put it in the zoo in the middle of the croc pond! Surrounded by all the crocodiles and put it in the middle so they’ll be guarding it. So everybody can look at it from afar but the crocodiles will be all around it.
Despite her brush with Hollywood, Bindi is excited to get back into her khakis and return to her true passion of animal conservation, as she plans to continue to carry on in her father’s footsteps. Congrats to this remarkable young lady on her big win.
