Anytime Donald Trump sits down for an interview, you never know what he’s going to say. And while some may have wondered if Stephen Colbert would provoke Trump to say something ridiculous, not much of that happened here. Questions about Obama’s birthplace were dodged and he wouldn’t note which specific politicians he would give money to if forced to drop out of the campaign. However, we did get one question answered regarding immigration and it brought up Trump’s favorite topic: Mexico.
Colbert remembered Trump’s promise that not only would he get a wall placed at the Mexican border, but that Mexico would pay for it. When asked how that would work, Trump acted out how that conversation would go, noting that the U.S. has a trade deficit with Mexico, and that the wall would be impenetrable and serious.
The second segment was more entertaining than the first. Though it’s here where Trump talked about the country’s money issues as well as the popularity of his hat.
