After the explosive first season of FOX’s Empire destroyed the television competition, it was pretty evident that Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious Lyons (Terrence Howard) would return in the fall to continue living out the operatic tale of life behind the scenes at Empire Entertainment. While there are still a couple months until season two premieres, TVLine has debuted the new key art for the series and hold onto your puns, but the Lyons are now totally hanging out with the lions.
The 18-episode new season of Empire — which is a pretty substantial upgrade from last season’s dozen — is set to premiere on Wednesday, September 23. The roster of guest stars scheduled to make an appearance on the hip hop drama already include lesbian billionaire Marisa Tomei, Chris Rock, Kelly Rowland, Lenny Kravitz, and Alicia Keys.
Sure the show is already a smash hit for the network, but maybe FOX can take a note or two from CBS and throw actual lions into the actual on-screen mix. Talk about a compelling drama!
I mean, it’s totally working on Zoo… am I right or am I right?
