Would you like more Christoph Waltz in your 007 wheelings and dealings? It looks like the Oscar-winning actor’s time with the franchise might be tied to who plays Bond next.

According to UK tabloid reports (home of your favorite Coronation Street gossip!), Waltz will only return if Daniel Craig continues on as her majesty’s most popular spy. Things are about to get a bit SPOILERY in a moment, in case you haven’t seen SPECTRE, so we’re putting up this completely unrelated Lou Bega video as a courtesy shield before some key Spectre details get dished out.

Cool with spoilers? Alright, let’s march on.

Waltz’s reveal as legendary Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld in last year’s film puts Waltz into a coveted spot in the franchise’s universe. A source that spoke with the Daily Star (h/t The Mirror) is quite bullish on the prospect of more Waltz as Blofeld in future films.

“Christoph could make a brilliant ongoing man for Bond to battle like in the old days… But the important clincher of it is that Blofeld can only work with Daniel back in the role to keep continuity.”

The Mirror claims that Waltz will be a no go if Craig doesn’t return as James Bond. There have been rumblings that Craig will be in the next two Bond motion pictures, but at the very least he is under contract for one more. We suppose the likelihood of more Craig Bondage can be tied to how serious the 47-year-old was when he uttered that “I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists” comment.

By the way, Spectre is teed up for DVD release on February 9th.
