The Best Pictures And Videos From UFC 184

It was a great night of fights for the UFC in Los Angeles, chock full of crazy knockouts and submissions. And to top it all off: a record set for fastest finish in a UFC title fight: Ronda Rousey via armbar in 14 seconds. Once again the women’s bantamweight champion starched her opponent with ease, leaving the cage with an even bigger aura of invincibility than she went in with. Someone call Tony Stark and get him to build a Hulk Buster suit for the next challenger.

Speaking of challengers, even the people working for the UFC on commentary and sportsdesk were at a loss for who could possibly face Ronda next. And have a chance at winning, that is. At the UFC 184 press conference, Dana White made it crystal clear that Cris Cyborg would have to make 135 pounds for a fight with Ronda to happen. Which seems kinda strange to me. If we were talking about a Jon Jones vs Cain Velasquez superfight, would we insist on Cain dropping down to light heavyweight before it could happen? Okay, enough hypotheticals. Let’s get to the media:

And the UFC wanted Gina Carano to come back and fight Ronda Rousey immediately. That coulda been you Gina but you playin’.

Also worth covering your mouth in shock as you watch was the finish to the Jake Ellenberger / Josh Koscheck fight. Ellenberger’s killer instinct might leave a lot to be desired but when he locks onto a submission he does not let go. Josh Koscheck put in a saliva-soaked effort to escape but in the end was forced to tap.

Brock Lesnar was in the house, further fueling the WWE’s paranoia that he will leave wrasslin’ after Wrestlemania. One thing is for sure: Brock’s gonna make a ton of money playing Vince and Dana against each other.

Terrible reffing in the prelims as Roan Carneiro literally had to ask the referee to please stop his fight because Mark Munoz was clearly unconscious.

Vin Diesel seems happy his friend and Fast & Furious 7 co-star Ronda won her fight.

Mixed Martial Arts pioneer and Ronda Rousey mentor Judo Gene Lebell had her sub clocked at 12.83 seconds.

Hollywood star Mickey Rourke or homeless bag lady? You decide.

I know the UFC had some time to fill on their PPV, what with the 14 second finish and all. But this interview with Cat Zingano was the most unnecessary, painful thing to watch ever. You might as well have shown footage of someone kicking a puppy. Leave the woman alone, Joe!
