Let’s Talk Tuesday’s Geeky TV: ‘The Flash’ Needs A Bigger Show

This week on The Flash, an unstoppable killer whose name is whispered in fear will be arriving in Central City. Yep, Diggle’s got a guest shot! Also there appears to be some sort of shark man running around, but come on, Diggle has carte blanche to shoot people in the face. That shark is chum.

Presumably this will be something of a breather episode after nearly everybody in Earth-2 got killed off when Barry and Cisco visited, oh and Jay Garrick was kidnapped by Zoom. So beating up a man turned into a shark is probably the closest they get to a vacation. We just hope they use the single greatest introduction a supervillain has ever received in the episode. That’s tonight at 8 p.m. EST on the CW

Meanwhile, on the Marvel side of things:

Ken Marino as an old-school Italian mobster raised a few eyebrows, but he’s been a great addition to the show, which has been building up its cast and adding lots of character details and fun to the proceedings. Unfortunately, it has the death sentence of being “the best show people aren’t watching,” something only reinforced by this being the second two-parter before the season wraps up next week. That said, it’s clear that ABC was not expecting Wicked City to eat turf quite as hard as it wound up doing, so this might just be them plugging a schedule hole while deciding what to do with Carter next. It’s too bad Marvel doesn’t have a good relationship with a streaming service that tends to rescue critically respected but low-rated television shows, because that would sure come in handy! Ah well, we at least get a double dose of Carter tonight on ABC starting at 9 p.m. EST. Join us, won’t you?
