Mark Wahlberg and Tom Brady are the best of buds, apparently. In an interview on the Today show, Wahlberg went to bat for the Patriots quarterback, defending him for his role in #Deflategate.
Matt Lauer: “He is going to appear on his appeal for Deflategate. How do you feel about Deflategate as a New England fan?”
Mark Wahlberg: “I think it’s absolutely ridiculous. I think Tom Brady is the best quarterback to ever play the game. Should have six championships!”
Wow, Wahlberg hit all the Pats fan talking points in one sentence.
1) Ignore the evidence.
2) Talk about how awesome Brady is.
3) Insist the Pats deserve more titles.
And that, of course, led to this “ball on a tee” moment from Lauer.
Matt Lauer: “Did he mess with the balls?”
Mark Walhberg: “No, that’s ridiculous. He has beautiful balls.”
Lauer and Wahlberg have basically morphed into a bad version of Laurel and Hardy.
