It’s been four years since the last Radiohead album, The King of Limbs, came out. This isn’t necessarily surprising, because the band has been releasing albums at a slower pace over the last decade. However, they have been working on their next album for a little while now. Recently, producer Nigel Godrich provided more proof that the band is toiling away, as he posted a photo of Thom Yorke hard at work putting more music together.
The photo shows Yorke standing behind a keyboard with a psychedelic backdrop in the background. Late in 2014, Godrich tweeted a picture of Yorke and Jonny Greenwood together, about the time they reportedly began to work on this album. Drummer Phil Selway has said they’ve been working on the album in dribs and drabs so far this year, but that, in September, they would begin working on a “full schedule.” So, clearly, even if Yorke is in the studio now, they still have a lot of work left to do, and we may not get the album before the year is over.
This photo posted by Yorke, admittedly, doesn’t tell us anything we didn’t know. Radiohead is working on a new album, Radiohead fans will wait for it with excitement, Thom Yorke is still in the band, and it’s nice to get the occasional proof that Radiohead is still making music.
