TNT Passes on 'Scent of the Missing,' Is Now Dead to Me

I have terrible news, and it’s probably best if I just come right out and say it: TNT has passed on “Scent of the Missing,” their pilot about a K-9 search and rescue team. You may remember this show from Warming Glow’s coverage of its original order and the casting of its doggy stars. To say we were excited about this show would be an understatement. Just look at the description:

Executive produced by co-writers Carol Mendelsohn, Melissa R. Byer & Treena Hancock and Barry Josephson, “Scent Of The Missing” centers on Susannah (Tricia Helfer), a tenacious, strong-willed K-9 Search and Rescue volunteer who works with an equally determined partner — her mischievous golden retriever. Eric Winter and Summer Glau co-star. [Deadline]

THE SHOW STARRED TRICIA HELFER AND A MISCHIEVOUS GOLDEN RETRIEVER. AND THEY WERE PARTNERS. ON A SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM. WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED, TNT? JESUS. AND YOU’RE PICKING UP A DAVID E. KELLEY SHOW INSTEAD? WHAT IS IT, A STUPID MEDICAL DRAMA ABOUT DOCTORS TRYING TO JUGGLE THEIR STRESSFUL WORK AND PERSONAL LIVES? WHAT?! THAT IS WHAT THE SHOW IS ABOUT? OH FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST. YOU PICKED A DOCTOR SHOW BASED ON A BOOK BY SANJAY GUPTA OVER A SHOW ABOUT A DOG AND THE HOT LADY FROM “BATTLESTAR GALLACTICA” SAVING LIVES ? THAT’S IT. YOU’RE DEAD TO ME, TNT. YOU HEAR ME? DEAD.
