Now Watch Rich Rod Whip, Now Watch Him Nae Nae

Arizona’s video department is one of the best in the business. If you need evidence, please take a moment to rewatch the football team’s wild west video from two years ago. They also have their media guide game on lock.

Okay, now that that’s out of the way, it seems they’re bringing us a little more joy and fun and overall positive vibes with this video featuring the Wildcats gymnastics team dancing to Silentó’s “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae),” a song you will hear at pretty much every sporting event for the next six months. It’s a pretty normal video, with the athletes dancing on the uneven bars, on a field, and in a golf cart.

But wait a second.

Yup, that’s Arizona football coach Rich Rodriguez getting in the act.

This is one of those easter eggs I almost wish hadn’t been included in the YouTube title. Make it a Se7en-style reveal at the end. Arizona is coming off a 10-win season, although there’s still a bad taste in the team’s collective mouth following that Fiesta Bowl loss to Boise State. Rodriguez reportedly didn’t talk to quarterback Anu Solomon for two weeks following the game, but the team has high hopes heading into 2015 despite being picked fourth in the Pac-12 South in the preseason media poll, behind USC, Arizona State and UCLA.

Surprise the doubters, and Rodriguez might be dancing a bit more come bowl season.
