Show Me a Hero (HBO, Sunday 8 p.m.) — The latest David Simon project that he expects you not to watch. The six-part HBO miniseries focuses on racial tension in Yonkers, N.Y. in the late 1980s. It figures to be more The Wire than Treme and stars Oscar Issac, Jon Bernthal, Winona Ryder, Jim Belushi and Carla Quevedo. Parts 1 and 2 air back-to-back this week.
Masters of Sex (Showtime, Sunday 10 p.m.) — Dr. Masters learns that he’s no longer as anonymous as he may like. He and Virginia counsel a famous couple trying to spice things up a bit, and Mrs. Masters finds herself being a little more… appreciated than she’s used to.
Ray Donovan (Showtime, Sunday 9 p.m.) — Ray’s brother’s losing it again, and Ray’s family and business life unpredictably intertwine as Katie Holmes finally meets the missus.
Hell on Wheels (AMC, Saturday 9 p.m.) — A fancy train ride and a debate over the merits of traveling to San Francisco to buy fireworks break up the drama, as Maggie gets sucked into Durant’s latest scheme amid unexpected violence in Chinatown, and the tension between Cullen and The Swede finally boils over.
Hannibal (NBC, Saturday 10 p.m.) — A full moon approacheth, which means Will and Jack are bracing themselves for another gruesome crime scene, courtesy of Francis Dolarhyde. But Alana is under the impression that Hannibal knows what’s up and offers him an opportunity to redeem himself.
HUMANS (AMC, Sunday 9 p.m.) — Laura’s evolution has come full circle, as she and the rest of the Hawkins family conspire to save Anita and the rest of Dr. Elster’s synth kids in the season finale of HUMANS.
Ballers (HBO, Sunday 10:30 p.m.) — Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton makes a cameo, and Rob Corddry goes full Jerry Maguire as he looks to start his own firm with Spencer.
The Brink (HBO, Sunday 11:00 p.m.) — Pakistan flips the United States’ “we don’t negotiate with terrorists” line back on them, as Jack Black plays James Bond and Pornstache goes full Hurt Locker while trying to get back up in the air.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO, Sunday 11:30 p.m.) — It’s new… and probably poignantly hilarious.
