While there are certainly some downsides to being a space marine — getting eaten by alien monsters, having to take orders from Paul Reiser, etc. — there are plenty of perks. One of the best is getting to work with some seriously badass weaponry. Take, for example, the M41-A Pulse Rifle used by Ellen Ripley and the marines in Aliens. Or, more specifically, build it at home and then take it.
Using inexpensive parts and materials, Dustin McLean demonstrates how to make your own replica pulse rifle for about under $50. It’s perfect for cosplay or Halloween costumes or just keeping around the house, and, when visitors come over, you can be all like, “Oh, that? That’s just my pulse rifle.”
