The LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant targeting KISS band member Gene Simmons‘ house on Thursday. KTLA quotes an LAPD spokesperson as saying that the family was cooperative, and that none of them were suspects in the case.
KTLA also quotes a Simmons family spokesperson who issued a statement saying that police asked questions about a crime that may have occurred on the musician’s property when he was away on tour with KISS. The spokesperson declined to elaborate further, so as not to compromise the investigation.
According to their website, the LAPD Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was created with the intention of “helping state and local agencies to develop effective, sustainable responses to online child victimization and child pornography.”
Simmons’ wife, Shannon Tweed Simmons, tweeted about the search:
