Never let it be said that being a local TV sports anchor is a glamorous job. WGN sports anchor Pat Tomasulo found that out the, um… hard way when he was sent out to do a, uhh… package (I swear I’m not doing this on purpose) on the Ponderosa Nudist Resort in Indiana.
Tomasulo made the most of it, though, after some initial hesitation, and decided to ditch his clothes and join in on the fun, which included hitting up the tennis court and reenacting the famous volleyball scene in Top Gun with some rather clever censors blocking out the parts the FCC wouldn’t be thrilled about.
The best part of the segment, however, comes after the package is over, when Tomasulo engages in the most awkward news banter you’ve ever seen at the desk with his uppity co-anchors who don’t quite seem to be as comfortable in their own skin as he is, and can barely make eye contact with him, much less engage him in conversation.
Considering the recent trend of television’s obsession with nudity, I would not be surprised if this led to an all-nude Olympic-style competition for television, where Tomasulo and his partner from Ponderosa could be the nude male version of Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor.
